I’m a teacher with 20+ years of experience & I’m an Euskaldun berri or a new Basque learner just like you!

So, you can think of me as your new BFF in your journey to learn this ancient & mysterious language!

I now know what it’s like to be a language learner.

But it wasn't always this way...

As a daughter of immigrants, I was always surrounded by language learners.  My parents learned English when they moved to the US, and I learned it when I went to school as a 5-year old.  At home, I would I would use Spanish with my parents and English with my brother.

In college, I was studying Biology & Chemistry along with Spanish with hopes of becoming a doctor.  However, literally a month before graduation, while soaking in the sun in Puerto Vallarta, I made a change.

I decided I wanted to be a teacher!  

So I graduated, but stayed one more year to earn my teaching degree.

From there, I went on to teach many courses ranging from Biology, Chemistry and Spanish to Leadership.  But, I still really didn’t know how to be a language learner.

When did I truly begin to learn?

That happened in 2011, when I started to learn Basque…one of my childhood dreams!

 

When I started learning Basque, I started to see how to become an even better language teacher.

 

I understood the challenges that YOU as a learner might face.

 

After all these years of teaching & helping students in the classroom, I decided in 2019 that I wanted to create courses to help Expats, people with Basque roots & language lovers learn Basque from anywhere around the world.

 

My passion for teaching, learning & my Basque culture continues, as I help you become an EUSKALDUN BERRI!
